Wagle Ki Duniya (literally: 'Wagle's World') was a popular sitcom on Indian television that originally aired between 1988 and 1990. It was directed by Kundan Shah and was based on characters created by noted cartoonist R. K. Laxman, especially "the common man" about the issues of common middle-class Indian man. It starred Anjan Srivastav as a bumbling salesclerk in a multinational company and Bharati Achrekar as his wife. The series was a hit and made Anjan Srivastav a household name.

Three generations of the family live together, who share all their happiness and sorrows. Follow the story of this family as they bring laughter to each other's lives and will make your heart melt. Gangster Pasha has brought up young Suraj as his own son, and has taught him all the skills needed for theft, break & enter, and acting as a hitman. Years later, Suraj has grown up and has become an expert in these skills. The law does catch up to him, and he is imprisoned. When he completes his sentence, he re-enters his world of crime with Pasha. One day he meets up with beautiful Aarti, and falls in love with her. Aarti too is attracted to him, and eventually falls in love with him. When Aarti finds out about his profession, she is dismayed and shocked, and will not have anything to do with him, unless and until he promises to give up on this career. Suraj does so, only to find Aarti's boyfriend Inspector Vijay to out to arrest him by hook or by crook on one hand, and on the other Pasha has ordered his death.

Chand is a social drama dealing with the story of a childless couple with Balraj Sahni and Meena Kumari in lead roles. Mr. Kappor (Balraj Sahni) who is a married to Kamla (Pandari Bai) cannot have a child of their own. Kamla wants a child but under duress agrees to have Mr. Kapoor take a second wife and have a child. Sahni marries Vimla (Meena Kumari) with a heavy up front payment to her father. The marriage just collapses shortly after when Meena Kumari finds herself with another wife competing for the same husband. She gives birth to a child but leaves her husbands house to live with her father as it was evident that she was loosing her senses in the situation she was thrown in. As she recovers her senses at her father's place she wants her child back but both Kamla and Mr. Kapoor declines to give the child back.
